Winter Thaw-A (WT-A)

January 15-17, 2021

Can't bring your group this weekend?
Check Out Winter Thaw-C or Winter Thaw-D
.

Teenagers can get bogged down with their current situation in life, that it is all they focus upon, every minute of the day. However, God has a different view of teenagers and their situation because He knows the whole picture. It takes Faith Over Fear to look to the future, and make decisions now, which will impact your future, hopefully for the best.

Speaker:

Rev. Steve Holubec

Steve served 15 years in vocational youth ministry at  E. C. Churches in Leesport, Temple, and Akron Pa. During his time in youth ministry, he served as the E. C. Youth Network chair and chaired the Christian Education committee for the E. C. church. After leaving vocational ministry, Steve was hired by U-GRO Learning Centre’s, where he began as a teacher before being hired as an assistant director in 2018 and became the Director in 2019. Steve has a Masters of Divinity with a focus on Youth Ministry from Evangelical Seminary and a Masters of Elementary Education from Grand Canyon University. He is an avid sports fan and currently resides in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, with his wife Lauren and sons Ryan (9) and Eric (6).

Special COVID-19 Statement

As the virus is still a concern, and information from science and health organizations is still fluid, months before Winter Thaw 2021, it is difficult to provide specifics concerning mitigation policies for January and February. Twin Pines Camp is monitoring guidelines and direction from the Center for Disease Control and directives from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Prior to attending your Winter Thaw retreat, you will be informed of policies in place at that time. Twin Pines Camp wants to provide a safe experience for all who participate in what the ministry has to offer to grow disciples of Jesus.

Winter Thaw-A (WT-A)

January 14-16, 2022

Can't bring your group this weekend?
Check Out Winter Thaw-B, Winter Thaw-C, or Winter Thaw-D
.

Twin Pines knows it is a challenge to offer a retreat for your youth group and not get distracted by managing details. All you want to do is spend time ministering with your students through relationship building. Twin Pines Camp wants to help you with this challenge. We do the planning and managing of the retreat, so you do not. We secure the speaker and worship music group, plan the activities, feed you, and support you in spending time with your students to minister to them.

The 2022 ’s Winter Thaw theme is It’s Not About You! Look outward not inward based on Micah 6:8. It is so easy for teens to think about themselves, and not consider those who are in their sphere. Micah 6:8 provides a list of things people ought to do to look outwardly, not inwardly. In a culture which some call narcissistic, how can believers in Jesus act, love, and live differently than their friends?

Speaker:

Rev. Jeff Berger

With over two decades of youth ministry experience, Jeff Berger is now the lead pastor at St. John’s E.C. Church just north of Annville, PA.  He is passionate about presenting God’s Word with integrity and creativity. He is a Board of Directors member and a Junior High Camp director at Twin Pines Camp and an Ambassador with Group Publishing in Loveland, CO. He authored “The Family Devotional Guide to Disneyland Park and Magic Kingdom Park,” published in 2012 by Evergreen Press of Mobile, AL.

Before pastoring at St. John’s, Jeff was a Regional Manager with Operation Christmas Child from 2013-2016 and was the Youth Pastor at Mohn’s Hill Evangelical Congregational Church from 1994-2013 – during which time he spoke to thousands of youth and youth leaders across the country at various workcamps, retreats, conferences, summer camps, and other special events.

Jeff put his faith in Christ as a child at Twin Pines Camp. He lives in Palmyra, PA, and loves the beach, drum corps, Disney parks, and the Dallas Cowboys.
