The Forester's Partnership seeks to connect many of the dedicated supporters of our ministry to help Twin Pines provide a continuing ministry to future generations.
The Twin Pines Forester’s Association has nothing to do with planting trees but it has everything to do with sowing the resources to insure the future of this vital ministry of Christian camping. Those of us who have benefited from this ministry need to be good stewards and provide the basis whereby this ministry will be guaranteed a bright and healthy future.
We have chosen to designate gift categories by means of trees in keeping with the nature emphasis of the camp. Just as there are different trees with different purposes, so there are different people with different abilities to support God’s work.
Eastern Red Cedar is resistant to extremes of drought, heat and cold. The berries are a source of food to many kinds of wildlife. Red cedar foresters are indicative of the many people who begin sowing for the future of this ministry.
Pitch Pine is named for its high resin content; it is a hardy species which grows well in poor soil. This fire resistant pine was often used for railroad ties. Pitch pine foresters are many people joining together to help carry the burden.
Norway Spruce has the largest showy cones in its family. Cultivated widely for ornament, shade and Christmas trees, it is also one of the most popular of the pine family. Norway spruce foresters help us improve the camp and make it better as a beautiful tribute to our Master.
Virginia Pine is a hardier member of the pine family. Used primarily for lumber and pulpwood, it grows very well in poor soil and helps to “house” small animals. Virginia pine foresters help to provide the funds that insure a strong and effective future for the camp.
The largest of the northeastern pines, the Twin Pines in front of our Main Lodge stand tall and erect and have withstood many a storm. Likewise, White pine foresters provide the means for Twin Pines to withstand the storms and continue strong in the midst of all the Devil can throw our way and continue to point the way to the One who has overcome ALL storms.
